General function

The Economic Development Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting San Diego Regional EDC’s economic development initiatives, managing company inquiries, and coordinating strategic partnerships and resources for local businesses.

Your daily impact on our work

  • Company Inquiry Management
    • Process and respond to business inquiries through multiple channels
    • Conduct initial consultations and intake assessments
    • Log and track potential business projects in Salesforce
    • Connect businesses with relevant local organizations and support networks
    • Coordinate with city and county economic development teams
  • Business Support
    • Develop quarterly business resources for wide distribution
    • Conduct searches and leverage brokerage network to assist companies in site selection
    • Assist companies in navigating local economic development resources
    • Provide comprehensive guidance on state and local incentive programs
  • Event and Committee Coordination
    • Plan and manage quarterly Economic Development Committee meetings
    • Maintain participant rosters and manage RSVPs
    • Coordinate with committee chairs and executive assistants
  • Administration and Reporting
    • Maintain multiple resources, including industry profiles and response packets
    • Prepare quarterly reports and track company project wins
    • Other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • Possess many tools in your toolbelt
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities
    • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems like Salesforce
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Comfort with data analysis and reporting
    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and Google Workspace skills

This is a full-time, hourly position with excellent benefits. EDC offers a collaborative and flexible working environment in San Diego’s vibrant downtown.

Pay range commensurate with experience: $24–$26.50/hr. ($49,920–$55,120 annually)
