Problem
After years of perfecting its cloud-based healthcare portal and gaining traction with various international clients, VisionTree was ready to activate its international expansion plans by setting up a formal European office in the UK. VisionTree needed help mapping out the critical and distinct steps involved in a successful export endeavor and connecting to the requisite networks and resources critical to establishing an overseas office in the UK.
WTCSD Solution
WTCSD consulted with VisionTree on its export strategy, assisted it in triaging its expansion plans to the UK and the Middle East, and discussed both local and global resources which could help the company with its business expansion research, and help Visiontree establish its UK office. These connections included legal firms, contacts with the UK and London governments, San Diego State University’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) whose students work with companies to conduct business research projects as part of their practical experience.
Results
In November 2018, VisionTree announced the opening of its UK office along with the installation of its European Director. This office will lead on all European sales and business and grow the expanded sales and use of the VisionTree patient-centered outcomes and cloud platform developed in San Diego.
