Global Competitiveness Council – Q2 2022
Jul 20 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
This meeting/event is intended for a specific audience. Reach out to the EDC point of contact for registration information.
World Trade Center San Diego (WTCSD) and the co-chairs of the Global Competitiveness Council, Kim Becker (CEO, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority) and Rob Douglas (President and COO, ResMed), invite you to join us for the second quarterly meeting of 2022.
Our council will hear from an expert panel, moderated by John McMillan, Director of Research Initiatives, Engineering and Physical Sciences at SDSU Research Foundation, about the impact of lithium extraction in Imperial Valley on the regional economy, national security, and global supply chains. State and federal officials believe enough lithium lies under the Salton Sea to fuel all of the global demand as it stands today, its availability central to the shift toward electric power and global demand projected to increase 40 times by the year 2040.
The council will also hear from companies participating in the newest cohort of WTC’s flagship export assistance program, MetroConnect.
