Verified Program Designation Day

Join us for EDC’s flagship talent event, Reaching Tomorrow’s Talent. Employers and community partners are invited to join in the selection of Verified Programs on November 13 at UC San Diego Park & Market. This event, part of the Advancing San Diego initiative, brings together employers, workforce leaders, and educators to shape the future of workforce development and talent recruitment. Guests will have the opportunity to meet with education and training programs preparing the next generation of talent and hear from San Diego’s largest employers about the rapidly evolving landscape of talent recruitment and retention. Employers will be entered into a drawing for a round-trip flight on Southwest Airlines (international or domestic) for each rubric filled out and turned in.

What is a Verified Program?

Verified Programs are education providers recognized by employers as delivering top-quality training for high-demand jobs across San Diego County. Employers grade program performance in five key areas:

1. Curriculum’s coverage of technical skills needed in entry-level roles
2. Efforts to develop critical employability skills in students
3. Level of ongoing engagement with industry
4. Proven diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
5. A history of collaboration with industry, local community-based organizations, and/or the Advancing San Diego program
